Ⅱ . Tapered roller bearing
Tapered roller bearings are separable bearings. Its inner components (consisting of roller, cage and inner ring) and outer ring can be separated, therefore, it can be easily mounted on the shaft journal and bearing housing.
Tapered roller bearings can carry radial load and the combined radial and axial loads. The axial bearing capacity of tapered roller bearings depends on the contact angle α, the angle of the outer ring raceway, namely the larger the contact angle α, the greater the axial load capacity.
In addition to metric series of tapered roller bearings, E-FINE also provides inch series of tapered roller bearings. According to the number of roller rows, there is single row, double row and four row structures, etc.
(1) Single row tapered roller bearing
Single row tapered roller bearings are used to carry radial load mainly and axial load. The large cone angle tapered roller bearings (22 ° ~ 31 °) carry combined axial and radial loads mainly subject to axial load, and are generally used for pure axial load.
Single row tapered roller bearings can limit unidirectional axial displacement of the axes (or shells), therefore it used as unidirectional axial positioning bearings. They are separable bearings, and so inner and outer rings can be installed separately and outer rings are interchangeable. It is convenient to install and disassemble. During installing and using, radial and axial clearance can be adjusted arbitrarily, and the bearing rigidity can be increased by preloaded installing. The clearance of tapered roller bearing directly affects the bearing performance. If the clearance is too small, the temperature rise will be higher; if the clearance is too large, the vibration will increase and it will be difficult to guarantee the rotating accuracy. Therefore, in the process of installation and use, we should pay special attention to the reasonable adjustment of bearing clearance.
In order to prevent bearings from being damaged by stress concentration in the contact between roller and raceway, the shaft incline relative to the shell hole is not allowed during installation. Only when the roller and raceway generatrix are in contact with correction line, a micro inclination (≤ 2') is allowed. Because additional forces are produced under radial load, two sets of single row tapered roller bearings are generally installed in two supports of the shaft, which are installed face to face or back-to-back.
Single row tapered roller bearings are mostly used for automobile rear axle hub, large machine tool spindle, high power reducer, contact roller of conveying appliance, etc.
(2) Double row tapered roller bearing
Double row tapered roller bearings are used to carry combined radial and axial loads mainly consisting of radial load. They can limit axial displacement in two direction of the shafts (or shells) and can therefore be used as bidirectional axial positioning bearings.
The performance of double row tapered roller bearings (type TDO) is similar to that of two single row tapered roller bearings installed back to back, but the double row tapered roller bearings have fewer parts, are easier to install and disassemble and have better rigidity. Therefore, they are often used for alternating load carrying conditions, such as reducer, coiling machine and so on.
The performance of the double row tapered roller bearings (type TDI) is similar to that of two single row tapered roller bearings installed face to face. Compared to double row tapered roller bearings (type TDO), double row tapered roller bearings (type TDI) have smaller installing space but less rigidity. Most of them are used as positioning end bearings carrying medium load, such as roll bearing positioning end, reducer and so on.
There is a spacer ring between the two inner rings of an double row tapered roller bearing (type TDO) and a spacer ring between the two outer rings of an double row tapered roller bearing (type TDI). The radial and axial clearance of the bearing can be adjusted by changing the thickness of the spacer ring.
(3) Four row tapered roller bearing
Four row tapered roller bearings are also roller diameter bearings widely used. The type of bearing has a large carrying capacity and can carry the combined radial and axial loads mainly consisting of radial load at the same time. Its radial load capacity is about 2.5-3.5 times larger than single row bearing, and it can carry large radial load and axial load. Due to limited structure, its limit speed is relatively lower than that of four row cylindrical roller bearing. Four row tapered roller bearings can carry axial load in two directions, so they can be used as bidirectional thrust bearings.
Four row tapered roller bearings are mainly used for work rolls and support rolls of various plate and strip rolling mills and roughing mills. Adjusting the thickness of the spacer ring and the clearance of the bearing make such bearing more suitable for the working conditions.
